For my first project of the term, I decided to use materials that I already had lying around in my collection. I found a quilter pillow case and a flannel sheet that seemed to match nicely, and so I layed them out on the floor. I was wearing a vest that day, and with this inspiration so close at hand, I began my project.

1: trace an existing garment

2: cut the pieces, rearrange them on the floor into fun shapes and styles

3: pin it, try it on, and make adjustments

4: sew it all together with copious amounts of bias binding

5: hurrah! Now I have a vest
